Trudy J. Harris, author

Trudy J. Harris was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She studied at Simon Fraser University and then settled into accounting work and raising her two children.

She has always loved writing and decided to finally, officially give it a go—to take a first step and see where it led.

She was challenged by her very supportive and encouraging husband, Michael, to write a story while he was traveling for a short time to a place where communication with him would not be possible. She took up the challenge and wrote Teak the Brave.

She continues to write her second children’s book. The concept and main character of this  book came to her in a dream—what a great place to start!

Her current favourite author is Charlie Mackesy who wrote:

“Always remember you matter, you’re important and loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can.”

Kristen Holliday, Illustrator

Kristen Holliday, illustrator of Teak the Brave, lives in a bright Kamloops apartment with her husband. She works as a journalist, and on her days off enjoys spending time with friends, painting up a storm, being active outside, road trips and travel, and long sunny afternoons.
